Firefighters to be on boats and "have verifiable HazWoper and/or Hazardous Materials Technician Certification. Individuals will be working on boats overseeing the collection of oil from the gulf. Summer 2010 rentals on the Gulf Coast is way ahead of recent years. Is the economy becoming a non-issue? Dauphin Island is very close to many areas and population centers so this may partially explain the no vacancy at many beach rental homes.
Great part is even with full houses the island still has deserted beaches.

Dauphin Island beach vacation rentals are trending quite a bit ahead of Summer and Spring Break 2009. 2009 was a full occupancy Summer Season as the island is seen as a huge bargain with new beachfront and direct beach access cottages renting for 1750-2400 for a week which sleep at least 10 friends and family.
